About Kalk Bay Foods
Kalk Bay Foods is the brain child of Irene Ivy-Schuurmans. Whose impeccable eye for design, innovation and flavour has inspired products that fill an exciting gap in the fine food market.
The Kalk Bay Foods grocery range consists of gourmet products from South Africa's most innovative small producers. From olives and preserves, to chili pastes and exotic spices. Only suppliers with a real passion for their product are selected by Kalk Bay Foods.
In addition, Kalk Bay Foods also exports a number of branded products from small producers, who do not have the ability or infrastructure to distribute their own products in international markets.
Our wide range of gifting ideas consists of a variety of styles to suit all tastes.
Bright and modern gift hampers are themed along current food trends. While Artisanal
wooden boxes hold traditional spice collections. We also do an innovative range
of grinders, that come in all shapes and sizes, and are filled with anything
from kitchen basics to delicious blends of herbs and spices.
We're also focused on giving back to the community, which is why we've chosen
to have all our gifting products packed by hand. Providing much-needed employment
for the local community. This also provides a certain level of flexibility for
our clients, so products can be customised to suit every need. In addition, products
can be labeled in various languages. Providing an extra bit of local flavour,
or the option to take that perfect personalised gift back to your loved ones
at home.
Kalk Bay Foods is situated in Cape Town, South Africa and currently exports to
8 countries worldwide, but that's just the beginning. Watch this space, there's
more to come.
About Kalk Bay
As part of an arterial that stretches from the
CBD to Cape Point, Kalk Bay adds a capricious dimension to a motorway
that undergoes many mood swings en route to its destination. Sandwiched
between stately St James and the bland sobriety of Fishoek, is a kaleidoscope
of quaint antique shops, art galleries, and quirky restaurants.
On weekends a lively horde of citizens from
every walk of life, converge on this narrow stretch of festivity to
soak up the unique atmosphere. And creating a backdrop is the wellspring
of this colourful community, the Kalk Bay Harbour, a picture postcard
anchorage where the fishing folk, with roots stretching back into history,
live work and play. Arrive at the right time and you'll be able to
buy your fish on the quayside, and get it cleaned and scaled by the
skilled ladies who have been practising their craft for generations.
